2019 Time and Talent Pledge

Stewardship means using the gifts God has given us to do the work God is calling us to do.

As part of my spiritual offering to God, wise stewardship of my own gifts, and in recognition of God’s extravagant gifts of time and talent, I pledge to serve the community of Grace Episcopal Church in the following capacities:
Worship
Lector (Lay Reader)
Singing in the choir
Acolyte
Acolyte director (an adult who assists youth acolytes at the second service)
Helping set up for worship (Altar Guild)
Special musician (vocal or instrumental)
Lay Eucharistic Minister (Chalice Bearer)
Christian Formation
Help with children’s formation – Godly Play (age 3-1st grade) or Spark (grades 2-5)
Nursery helper
Help with Vacation Bible School
Youth ministry (assisting with Sunday school, events, mission trip or fundraising)
I have knowledge/expertise I would be willing to share with the congregation in the following area:
Participate in or support our Boy Scout Troop 10 programs
Pastoral Care
Be a point of contact for parishioners in need, to help connect them with other ministries of Grace that can support them
Prepare or deliver meals for people recovering from illness or surgery
Be present with and listen to people who are suffering
Help with funeral meals or receptions
Provide transportation for parishioners to and from church, for medical appointments, grocery shopping, or other needs
Take Communion to those unable to attend Sunday morning worship (Lay Eucharistic visitation)
Pray for members of our parish in need
Ministry within our Congregation
Welcome visitors to Grace
Help new parishioners make Grace their church home
Help build community through various fellowship events
Host a coffee hour
Set up or clean up for events
Welcome people to our congregation, pass out bulletins, usher
Mission to God’s World
Help plan Grace’s involvement with the wider community
Share music, fun and Godly Play stories in a nursing home setting ("Godly Play on the Road")
Prepare and/or serve a meal at the Salvation Army
Serve in the Common Ground office and at special events
Work in the Samaritan Center Food Pantry
Bring food for the Salvation Army and Samaritan Center donation baskets
Help prepare summer meals for Food4Kids
Work in the Salvation Army garden
Work in the Common Ground garden
Tending our Shared Physical and Fiscal Resources
Help count Sunday offerings
Help on property clean up days
Help maintain Grace’s Courtyard garden
Use my “EScrip” card so that Grace Episcopal Church receives a percentage of all my Schnucks purchases
Shop online using Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.com) so that Grace Episcopal Church receives a percentage of all my Amazon purchases
Provide semi-skilled labor where needed (painting, changing lightbulbs, moving furniture, light handyman services, etc.)
