Welcome!

Grace Episcopal Church is a historic, diverse, and active parish of the Episcopal Church located in downtown Jefferson City. The parish is committed to sharing God’s grace with others since the founding of a mission church in 1836 and the subsequent founding of the parish as “Grace Church” by a handful of Episcopalians in 1840. We are a community of worshippers who seek to honor God by loving and respecting one another and by serving those in God’s needy world. There is a place at Grace Church for everyone, member or not, who seeks God and all of His blessings.

  • * Restrictions for in-person services- Most restrictions for in-person services have been eased at this time. Masks are optional at this time even when singing during the service. Sunday in-person service limits have been removed at this time. As always, these restrictions are dynamic and based on current levels of infection, and so are subject to change as the infection level changes.

New to Grace Church?

We at Grace Church extend a cordial welcome to you to worship with us. Whether you are a new Episcopalian in town or are looking for a church home, we invite you to join us.

Our congregation is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, of which the Church of England is the mother church. We are a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri and the Episcopal Church, USA. We have been a part of the Jefferson City community for more than 160 years. We cherish diversity in our congregation.

The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and be as followers of Christ.

The center of our common life is the altar. We invite to the Lord's Table all baptized persons who confess the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of their particular church affiliation. When we are unable to gather in person, for whatever reason, we celebrate spiritual Eucharist through our online services.

The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated twice each Sunday, mid-day on Wednesdays, and on Holy Days.

We try earnestly to live out our faith in our community.
