Outreach begins inside Grace Church but it also extends to our community and into the world far beyond.

Serve Our church

Liturgical and Eucharistic Ministers

Lay Liturgical Ministers (LEMs) assist the clergy during Sunday services, lead the prayers of the people, read scriptural passages, and help distribute the sacrament of communion. Following training, LEMs are licensed by the diocese to perform their duties.

Acolytes

Acolytes assist in the liturgy during the Sunday services as torchbearers or crucifers. Those in upper elementary grades through adult are eligible to become acolytes. Adults may also serve as acolyte directors, providing training and directions to acolytes, as well as answering acolytes’ questions on assigned Sundays.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares the church and communion vessels for services and cares for communion linens and vessels.  Any member of the parish is welcome to serve on Altar Guild.

Lectors

Lectors are unlicensed laypersons who read assigned Bible passages at Sunday services.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) are trained and licensed members of the parish who take already consecrated communion elements to those who cannot come to church. They provide a loving link between the church and those who are homebound or hospitalized.

Ushers

Ushers provide the first face of Grace Church to members and visitors as they distribute service leaflets, participate in the offertory, and generally provide assistance at Sunday services. Any member of the parish may serve as an usher.
